Sun 'n Fun 2015 - Miscellaneous

Yeah, I wouldn't mind having one of these on my RV!  210 horses, fuel injected.

Drones were this year's hot thing at Sun N' Fun.  You could test fly a drone in this big netted cage.  There were all sorts of booths at the show featuring various aspects of drones.

A good look down the Ultralight runway at Paradise City.  A couple of paragliders are coming towards me.  The Ultralights were up every morning and then again every evening.  They sure did look like they were having fun buzzing around up there.  I was envious.

The Easy Rider flies overhead.

Hanging out at the Sunset Grill Bar, drinking a cold beer during the airshow.  Not a bad way to spend the time.

As always, there were the workshops on the various airplane building specialties:  gas welding, Tig welding, fabric covering, engines, metal shaping, working with wood, and composites.  I practiced my gas welding here on two occasions.

Celebrity sighting!  Kevin Lacy, one of the stars on my favorite TV show:  Airplane Repo.  He saw me taking his picture and waved.  I snapped the shot and yelled "Love the show!"

Most of the forums were held in this building.

The Florida Air Museum is in the building to the right.  Nice little museum worth checking out.

One afternoon Bruce and I were hot and tired and wanted to drink a cold beer in the shade.  But others had the same idea and the Sunset Grill Bar was packed.  We were headed back to Homebuilt Camping when we came across the Coconut Flyers group.  Turns out they are some very friendly people and soon we were drinking a cold beer in the shade with the Coconut Flyer's.

A better look at the Coconut Flyers area.  These guys know how to have a good time.

Bruce and I went to the Paviilian in Friday evening to see and hear two more Airplane Repo stars:  Ken Cage and Danny Thompson.

Hot air balloons rising early Saturday morning.

Matt T. had a rental car and took us out in town Wednesday night to Outback Steakhouse.   Here are Matt and Bruce -- Bruce is holding a Big Bloke and pretty happy about it.

As I am.
